Simple Washcloth Knitting Pattern Collection

Simple washcloths and face scrubbies are great for brand new knitters who are just learning. Yet, the classic designs and the functionality of the cloths make these patterns handy, even for advanced knitters. You will find uses for your handmade towels throughout your house, including the bath and kitchen.

This knitting pattern contains instructions to make six separate items: a garter stitch washcloth, a garter stitch face scrubby, a stockinette stitch washcloth, a stockinette stitch face scrubby, a seed stitch washcloth, and a seed stitch face scrubby.

This is a Do-It-Yourself knitting pattern that you download as a digital PDF file after you purchase it. You will be able to save the file and print it. Please note: you will NOT receive a physical item.

How these Washcloths are Made

Materials

These washcloths and scrubbies are all knit with US No. 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles on worsted weight yarn. The patterns were designed with Lily Sugar ‘n Cream 100% Cotton Yarn. You can substitute almost any brand of yarn in this pattern successfully; just be sure it is made of 100% cotton or another absorbent fiber. 

Skills

This is a beginner skill level pattern set that requires a general understanding of casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.

Size Notes

The three washcloths all measure 8 inches by 8 inches square, when complete.

The three face scrubbies all measure 3 inches by 3 inches square, when complete.

Care

If you use the materials suggested in this pattern, your final product will be machine washable. To keep your cloths looking their best, hand wash or machine wash separately on delicate cycle in cold water. You may tumble dry on low heat, but laying flat to dry is recommended, as cotton does shrink a bit.
