Liz Chandler’s Knitting the Simple Things:
A Collection of Practical Patterns
If you have already learned to knit, this book of simple, classic patterns is for you. The patterns in this collection are easy to intermediate level knitting patterns. Some patterns are worked as flat pieces, like washcloths and scarves. Others are knit in the round; these come with instructions for circular needles, the magic loop, and double point needles (DPNs). Although not all the patterns require the same techniques, to make everything in this collection, you will need to know how to: knit, purl, increase, decrease, slip stitches, knit through the back loop, and bind off.
This set of patterns is the same as is found in my textbook, “Liz Chandler’s Knitting Guide: Learn to Knit with Practical Patterns.” If you do not want knitting lessons, just the patterns, choose this book.
In this gloss, hardcover book, you will find instructions to make home goods and knitwear. Patterns contain instructions for multiple sizes; knit something for everyone.
Each pattern in this book recommends a specific yarn that I have found suitable for the project, which you will find listed in the “Materials” section of the instructions. Select a worsted weight yarn made of the materials suggested by each pattern. Choose any color you like. You do not have to select a solid color; multi-colored yarn looks nice, as well.
