How Seed Stitch Washcloths are Made

These washcloths are knit flat using simple seed stitch, which means you’ll alternate knit and purl stitches to make a fluffy textured towel.

Materials

I designed these Seed Stitch Washcloths using Lily Sugar ‘n Cream 100% Cotton Yarn. But any 100% cotton worsted weight yarn should substitute beautifully in this pattern.

Skills

This is a beginner knitting skill level pattern that requires a general understanding of casting on, turning your work, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, binding off, and weaving in loose ends. If you are not familiar with these skills, find quick, free lessons in my Learn to Knit Guide.

Care

If you use the materials called for in the pattern, your final product will be machine washable. To keep your washcloth looking its best, hand wash or machine wash separately on delicate cycle in cold water. You may tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry.
