This scarf is knit flat from end to end using 1 × 1 ribbing (one knit, one purl) all the way through. Materials

I designed the Ribbed Knit Scarves using Caron Simply Soft yarn in solid colors. Try their variegated “Paints” yarn line to spice things up. Or, you can substitute almost any worsted weight yarn in this pattern successfully; just check your gauge before you start. For example, I love Malabrigo Rios, a soft merino wool yarn.

Skills

This is an easy knitting skill level pattern that requires a general understanding of the long-tail cast on, knit stitches, purl stitches, turning your work, binding off in a pattern of knits and purls, and weaving in loose ends on flat knits. Care

If you use the materials called for in the pattern, your final product will be machine washable. To keep your scarf looking its best, hand wash or machine wash separately on delicate cycle in cold water. You may tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry.
