Anna Fingerless Mittens inspired by Frozen

If you’ve seen Disney’s Frozen, you probably noticed Anna’s pretty blue snowflake mittens. Anna wears the blue mittens for most of the movie, while she is trudging through the snow looking for her sister.

I designed some knit mittens to look like Anna’s snowflake mittens. While I made them just for fun and to see if I could, they’ve turned out to be a perfect cosplay costume piece. They are super thick, cozy, and warm, just like Anna’s mittens. But, this made me think it might be nice for all the princesses out there to have a lighter option for their summer costumes.

So, to help all the Anna’s stay cool, I’ve made a fingerless version of my Anna snowflake mittens for spring and summer parties and conventions. I think these wrist-warmers are fun to wear all the time with casual outfits, too. I wear my pair with jeans, a colorful shirt, and a light jacket whenever it’s a bit chilly outside.

Anna Fingerless Mittens inspired by Frozen

I make each pair of mittens by hand. Each pair takes me about 4 to 5 days to knit since these mittens are handmade, so please allow for a little processing time.

The mittens are made with very soft acrylic yarn. This makes them easier to care for. Machine wash on delicate or hand wash. Tumble dry on low.

The little blue mitts are embellished with a snowflake pattern embroidered on the back of the hand. The acrylic yarn used for these mittens is very soft. These mittens look great with an Anna princess costume as well as for everyday winter-wear. They’re also perfect if you want to build a snowman!

This is a knitting pattern for intermediate to experienced knitters (requires knitting in the round with double point needles). You’ll also need a basic understanding of embroidery or sewing (to stitch on the snowflake pattern).

Included in the pattern are instructions for all three sizes: Women’s size, Child’s size, and Toddler size.
– Woman’s Size fits most adult women; measures 6 inches top to bottom; fits 6-7.5 inches around hand (without thumb)
– Child’s size fits most girls age 4 to 10 years; measures 5 inches top to bottom; fits 5.5-6 inches around hand (without thumb)
– Toddler’s size fits most girls age 2 to 4 years; measures 4 inches top to bottom; fits 4.5-5 inches around hand (without thumb)
